After waiting 4 weeks after ordering from thier site, i recieved my two aluma wallets about a week ago, and an completely dissapointed.The "Aluma Wallet" is NOT an 'aluminum wallet' at ALL! Its actually a cheap plastic casing with super thin aluminum panels DOUBLE-FACED TAPED ON! This is not a lie--after recieving the wallet i tried lifting up the aluminum outer panels with my figner nail to see how well assembled the wallet is, and it nearly PEELED OFF!
Since i had a second aluma wallet on reserve, i decided to go further and keep lifting the aluminum panel off to see what why it was so flimsy, and within a second i literally peeled the aluminum panel off, revealing two strips of double faced tape! Are you kidding me--THIS WALLET IS HELD TOGETHER WITH TAPE!
Moreover, the actual locking mechanism on the wallet is AWFUL; it snaps firmly closed, but is really hard and difficult to open. Its a plastic snap fit, so i don't doubt the plastic will snap off shortly after using it.
Lastly, the card slots are good for seperating cards, but all your cards will FALL OUT as they are barely held in place. Moreover, you can't put cash in the wallet AT ALL! If you want to hold cash, you can only hold two bills DOUBLE FOLDED and then put into one of the card slots, making it extremely awkward and difficult to pay for something with cash.
I do not recommend this cheap, scam of a wallet to anyone.
If you want a cool hardshell wallet done RIGHT that will protect your cards and cash, i strongly recommend the Flipside Wallet from www.flipsidewallet.com. I have one of these and its FANTASTIC. It is much higher quality than the crappy aluma wallet, shields your cards from RFID Theft, and is built very strong!

The aluminum cover fell off when I opened the packaging - the double stick tape is not even sticky! I have been trying to open it for the past 15min but still can't get the latch to open. Boy, what a mistake! As soon as I took it out of the plastic the cover fell off! Low and behold underneath there was two strips of tape that holds the cover on. What a rip-off! Also, it is made out of very, very cheap plastic. Do not be fooled! Do not buy this product. I don't know where they get that this is made of aluminum, as it is plastic. I just cannot believe all the reviews on the internet saying how good a product it is. It is a scam just to get you to buy. Congrats! You got me this time, it will not happen again. I will stick with my leather wallets from now on. Unfortunately for some they will have to buy one and find out for themselves just how chintzy this product really is. The one I just bought will be going in the trash! PLEASE! PLEASE! DO NOT BUY THIS CHINTZY PRODUCT. |
